COME AND BREW WITH US

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Brewer to join the team at our brewery at Rosemains Steading, a friendly community of makers and producers surrounded by beautiful Midlothian countryside.

Working closely with our Head Brewer and senior brewer, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day production of our beers, from brewing and fermentation through to packaging and pasteurisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to new product development and recipe creation as we continue to push what’s possible in alcohol-free beer.

We’re a small team, so everyone’s contribution matters. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in making great beer, cares about quality and consistency, and is happy to get stuck into all aspects of brewery life.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll ideally have:

• At least two years’ experience working in a commercial brewing environment.
• A good practical understanding of brewing science, processes and quality control.
• High standards of cleanliness, organisation and attention to detail.
• The confidence to work independently while also being a great team player.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Good IT skills and basic knowledge of Excel.
• Enthusiasm for great beer and curiosity about the rapidly developing alcohol-free brewing category.
• A full UK driving licence.

This is a hands-on brewery role and involves an element of manual handling and lifting.

GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE

• A brewing qualification such as the IBD
• General Certificate in Brewing, Brewing MSc or equivalent would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.

We value practical brewing experience just as highly, so please don’t be put off applying if you don’t have a formal qualification. Training and further professional development can be offered to the right candidate.

LOCATION & WORKING PATTERN

This is a full-time, brewery-based role at Rosemains Steading, Pathhead, Midlothian. Please note due to our rural location, public transport access is limited.

The role includes rotational weekend cover for fermentation monitoring when required (usually no more than once a month), as well as occasional evening and weekend work at customer events, beer festivals and markets.
